Jeremy’s disability benefits were about to run out and he needed help figuring out what to do next.

He had been receiving these benefits since he was 18, and it would be life-changing if he had to do without them. He heard about Ability Services at Goodwill and reached out to them for help. In Jeremy’s words, “my life was a mess when I came to Goodwill.” He received assistance with his resume and got tips on how to prepare for an interview. Jeremy had been successful in getting job interviews but knowing how to prepare for them was a different story. Jeremy’s stuttering problem could be a barrier to communication and often excluded him from certain job opportunities. He felt intimidated by interviews and didn’t know how to get past that.

Jeremy had always wanted a job working with animals and through Goodwill, he learned about a part-time position at the Forsyth Humane Society as a Veterinary Medical Technician. He made it through the interview with flying colors and was hired! Jeremy loves his job and wants to pursue becoming a certified Veterinary Assistant. In the meantime, he is excited to go to work each day and is grateful that Goodwill helped him land his dream job.
