Color Me Asheville: Designer Agreement

GOODWILL’S MISSION:

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that has served the community since 1926. Through the sale of donated items in our stores, Goodwill funds employment and training programs that help people find hope, opportunity, and jobs. Goodwill is recognized nationally as one of the most efficient charities – channeling almost 87 percent of revenue to mission and sustainability. Last year, Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina provided employment services to more than 33,000 people last year.

Color Me Asheville by Goodwill – A Celebration of Healing and Community
Friday, April 4 – 6-8 p.m. at The Orange Peel
Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Beloved Asheville.

YOUR COMMITMENT

Thank you for agreeing to participate in Color Me Asheville! We hope that this event can be a moment of collective healing and celebration of our community’s resilience.

Your commitment to the following will contribute to the show’s success and create a safe, welcoming environment for all participants. Please see the Designer Information sheet for FAQs and key points of contact.

  • Complete and submit this agreement, providing current contact information and social media handles.
  • Once notified, pick up your $200 Goodwill gift card at the Goodwill Career Center (1616 Patton Avenue, Asheville), to be used to purchase materials that will be used in your collection. Please note that the center is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Produce a collection of one to four pieces constructed primarily from repurposed materials sourced at Goodwill. At least 50 percent of your collection should use hues of your assigned color.
  • Select models for your collection.
  • Maintain communications with the Color Me Asheville team about your progress.
  • Participate in production of event videos taking place at Goodwill Career Center, 1616 Patton Avenue, Asheville on January 30-31. Other arrangements can be made if you cannot attend the video shoot in person.
  • Participate in social media promotion of the event, plus any requests for advertising and media outreach (as your schedule permits).
  • Confirm the number of models walking in your collection by Feb. 28 (no more than four, please). – Complete and submit to Goodwill a W9 form before Feb. 28: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf
  • On the day of the show, participate in all rehearsals, photo shoots, and other show-related activities.

In addition, we ask that you commit to:

  • Treat all participants in Color Me Asheville with consideration and respect.
  • Share any concerns or issues with one of the Color Me Asheville contacts listed on the Designer Information form as soon as possible.
  • Do not publicly disparage Goodwill, its program participants, team members, or freelance/contracted partners.

By completing this form, you certify that you have read and understand this Agreement, have been given the opportunity to have your questions answered, and have been informed that Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina must provide a copy of this document on request.
