Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina will soon reopen its retail store on Tunnel Road in Asheville, which has been closed since Hurricane Helene flooded the area last September.

The store, located at 86 S. Tunnel Road, will reopen for shoppers and donors on Thursday, Feb. 20. The store’s operating hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sundays from 1-6 p.m.

“After closing for repairs due to Hurricane Helene, we could not be more excited to welcome our shoppers and donors back,” said John Stoffel, Goodwill’s vice president of retail. “The store is fully stocked with great finds, unique treasures, and plenty of deals on new and gently used items.”

“For more than four months, the team at the Tunnel Road store has been assigned to work at Goodwill’s other local stores,” Stoffel continued. “We’ve missed our customers as much as you’ve missed us, and we’re ready to help you shop and save.”

The store sustained minor damage due to Helene. While several of Goodwill’s western North Carolina stores were without electricity or internet service for several days, the Tunnel Road store is the only one that had to be closed for repairs.

Currently, the store can be reached from the north via Tunnel Road/NC-70. Shoppers and donors are advised to check local road conditions and closures before traveling.
