Goodwill’s popular annual fashion show featuring designs made from repurposed items celebrates a big milestone this year. Tickets are now on sale for the 10th Annual Color Me Asheville by Goodwill fashion show, which takes place on Friday, April 17, at The Orange Peel. Ticket proceeds will benefit Bounty & Soul, a nonprofit food bank based in Black Mountain.

The show features six design teams who will be competing for a $500 prize, determined by audience votes. Each designer receives $200 to shop at Goodwill for materials, which they deconstruct and repurpose for their collections. Design teams base their collection on an assigned color.

“This year, we’re celebrating not only the 10th year of Color Me Asheville, but the 100th anniversary of the founding of Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina,” said Ginger Salt, Goodwill’s Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer. “So in addition to working with an assigned color, each designer selected a decade from our founding in 1926 to present. Their collections will also be inspired by fashions from each period.”

The design teams competing in the 10th Annual Color Me Asheville fashion show represent a mix of returning designers and new faces. They are:

  • Rosie Baker
  • Corium (Amelia Hamilton, Aurora Gilley, Aria Gilley)
  • Michelle MacFarlane
  • MPP McFabricators (Sandy McDaniel, Kayren McKnight)
  • Mackenzie Palermo
  • The Three Graces (Charlotte Murphy, Susan Sertain, Hannah Wood)

The show also includes a special presentation by Sheila Thibodeaux, a local artist and designer who won Color Me Asheville in 2024. Thibodeaux also won the audience vote as part of the Sugar Britches team in 2022.

For the second year, Goodwill is using the event to support another local nonprofit organization. Bounty & Soul collaborates with regional farm and community partners to address the root causes of food insecurity and advance community health by providing access to farm fresh produce and whole-person education and resources.

“Bounty & Soul brings an incredible spark to our community, and we’re thrilled to champion their work this year,” said Lance Crawford, Goodwill’s District Director of Workforce Development. “Their fresh‑food distributions and whole‑person wellness programs create real, immediate impact; and that energy aligns perfectly with the spirit of Color Me Asheville. Supporting them means fueling a healthier, stronger community for everyone.”

Tickets for Color Me Asheville are only available through the Orange Peel box office. Visit www.ColorMeAsheville.org for tickets and more information. Seated tickets are $30 and standing tickets are $25. In addition, livestreaming tickets will be available for $10. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
