Veterans Events Planned in November

Goodwill is proud to help veterans transition to civilian careers by providing the services they need to reach their educational, financial and career goals. This November, Goodwill’s Career Centers invite veterans and their families to learn about area job opportunities and community resources.

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, the Lexington Career Connections Center (719 W. Center Street, Lexington) will hold an Open House for its new Veterans Resource Room from 1-3 p.m. The Veterans Resource Room will offer information from partnering agencies about the services they provide for our veterans. The room can also be used for networking, or for hosting special events. The center is currently accepting donations of military patches or photos that can be displayed in the facility as a tribute to veterans.

The Veterans Resource Room will open Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call (336) 236-8021.

The Lexington Career Connections Center is also holding a job fair Nov. 9 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. More than 12 employers are scheduled to attend, including Sonic, American Moving and Hauling, The Shoe Department and Mega Force. The job fair is open to the public.
