Goodwill is partnering with the Forsyth County Veterans Treatment Court to host a Second Chance Employment and Resource Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Goodwill’s headquarters (2701 University Parkway, Winston-Salem).
The event is open to anyone in the community with a criminal past who is having a difficult time finding employment. Workshops will be conducted from 9-11:30 a.m., followed by the Employment and Resource Fair which takes place from 1-3 p.m.; military veterans and their families will have priority access for from 1-2 p.m. Employers will be on site, so attendees should bring copies of their resumes and dress in business attire.
Topics to be covered in the Workshops include:
- How to complete a job application
- Mock interviewing
- Resume review
- Participants will also get a sneak peek at Goodwill’s Success Outfitters program.
Goodwill and the Walmart Foundation have partnered in Operation: GoodJobs, a national program that helps veterans and their families find meaningful work and gain financial stability. Operation: GoodJobs is expected to serve more than 4,000 veterans and military family members across the country by providing the tools and resources they need to achieve their educational, career and financial goals. .
