It shouldn’t cost a fortune to dress for success – and it doesn’t, when you build your career wardrobe at Goodwill.
The Runway to Success Fashion Show and Resource Fair, presented by Goodwill’s Davidson County Business Advisory Council, takes place Friday, April 5, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church Family Center, 320 South State Street in Lexington.
Employers and community partners will be available starting at 11 a.m., and the fashion show will begin at 1 p.m. All clothing used in the fashion show will be sourced from Davidson County Goodwill stores, and will be modeled by members of Goodwill’s Business Advisory Council, as well as Goodwill staff and program participants.
“There are three really good reasons for hosting this wonderful event,” said Pam Anglin, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina. “First, we want to demonstrate that no matter what budget you’re on, folks can purchase stylish, professional clothing at Goodwill retail stores that is suitable for job interviews and for wearing to work. Second, we want to make job seekers aware of the many resources that are available to them when looking for employment, and we also want to facilitate face-to-face interaction with potential employers. Third, we want to make everyone aware of how important it is to donate clothing and household items to Goodwill, which can then be sold in our retail stores and proceeds used to support our workforce development programs.”
Refreshments will be served, and attendees can register to win door prizes donated by local businesses.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Goodwill’s Career Connections Center at (336) 236-8021.
