Newest Goodwill Store Opens in Black Mountain Aug. 18

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina held the grand opening for its new retail store in Black Mountain on Thursday, Aug. 18. The new store is located at 2978 Old US Highway 70 in Black Mountain.

“We are so excited to open this bigger and better store in Black Mountain,” said Jaymie Eichorn, Goodwill VP of Marketing and Communications. “The Black Mountain community has been so supportive of Goodwill’s mission and we’re thankful to be able to expand in the area.”

Store staff, local officials, members of Goodwill’s executive management team and area shoppers celebrated the ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m. Town of Black Mountain Vice Mayor Ryan Stone welcomed Goodwill on behalf of the community. Judi Willard, member services assistant of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, thanked Goodwill for being part of the local business community.

Afterwards, shoppers browsed the store’s vast inventory of donated clothing, furniture, shoes, toys and home decor.  New items will also be for sale.

The new Black Mountain store replaces a leased store that opened in Black Mountain in 2007. In addition to being a larger facility, the new store has a covered donation drive-thru.

The new store will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
