Goodwill to Open New Store in Troutman Nov. 14

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina will hold a grand opening for its new retail store in Troutman on Thursday, Nov. 14.  The new store will replace a smaller Goodwill store which has operated in Troutman since 1976.

The previous store in Troutman, located at 666 N. Main Street, will hold a closeout sale on Nov. 12 and 13. All items in the store will be on sale for 50 percent off their normal prices.

“Our new retail store will be almost twice the size of our existing store in Troutman, with more inventory and a better shopping experience for our customers,” said Sara Butner, Goodwill communications manager.  “The new location will feature a convenient drive-up area so donors can drop off items without having to get out of the car in bad weather.”

Store staff, local officials, and members of Goodwill’s executive management team will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Afterwards, the public is invited to browse the inventory of donated clothing, furniture, shoes, toys and home décor.

The new store, located at 522 N. Main Street in the Troutman Village Shopping Center, will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 1-6 p.m. Donations of saleable clothing and household items are accepted at all Goodwill stores.
