Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is opening a new store in Boone next week. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9:45am on Thursday, February 11, followed by the grand opening at 10am. The store is located at 128 Crossing Way in Boone. It will be the second Goodwill store serving Watauga County.
Among the invited guests are Watauga County Commissioners, as well as the Mayor and members of the Boone City Council. Officials from the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, and Watauga Economic Development Corporation are also expected to attend.
The new store is packed with donated items including clothes for adults and kids, shoes, electronics, and home décor. The sale of these items supports employment and training programs that help people find jobs and get back on their feet. The new store will be open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 1 to 6pm, and will accept donations during these hours of operation.
