Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina will hold a grand opening for its first retail store in Marion, N.C., on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Local officials and members of Goodwill’s executive management team will be on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m., after which the public is invited to browse and shop in the store.
“This new store will serve a dual purpose. It’s a place where folks can come in and shop for great bargains on a wide selection of items, and it also features a convenient drive-up area for anyone who wants to donate clothing and household goods,” said Jaymie Eichorn, interim vice president of marketing and communications for Goodwill.
The 6,000-square foot Goodwill retail store, located at 535 North Main Street in Marion, will employ 13 people, feature fitting rooms and two cashier stations, and offer thousands of donated items, including clothing, furniture, shoes, toys, home décor and more. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Sundays from 1-6 p.m.
