Goodwill Safety Precautions and Measures

Following All Guidelines

We are following all federal, state and local laws and guidelines and doing even more to keep our team members and customers safe. We have posted signs throughout our stores to inform customers about these safety measures and to remind them about expectations.

Promoting Social Distancing and Limiting Occupancy

We are limiting store occupancy according to government-mandated numbers and our dressing rooms, restrooms, and water fountains are closed to avoid any challenges to social distancing. Signage and floor decals in our stores to encourage social distancing of a minimum of six feet between all individuals in the store.

Providing Safety Equipment

Our employees are wearing masks to protect you; we encourage our shoppers, donors and program participants to wear masks to protect our employees and each other. (Note: Outlet Store customers are required to wear a mask at all times while in our outlet stores.) We’ve provided additional PPE as appropriate for our employees and installed plastic guards at store registers.  All career centers and stores have sanitation stations with hand sanitizer, paper towels, and disinfectant spray.

Enhanced Cleaning Practices

We are reducing store hours to allow more time for cleaning, and are wiping down all high-touch surfaces regularly throughout the day. As another precaution, break rooms and water fountains are temporarily closed to the public.

Employee Health

All employees are required to conduct a daily health check to ensure that they are only working if they are not sick.  Our employees have been trained on our new procedures and best practices and guidelines issued by state and local health authorities relating to preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Living the Mission

Goodwill stores exist to support our mission to provide employment and training programs that help people find hope, opportunity, and jobs. All our employees work with this purpose in mind. Our mission is made possible through the sale of donated items, with 89 cents of every dollar spent in our stores going to Goodwill’s mission and sustainability.  Our mission would not be possible without you – our generous donors and loyal shoppers. Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.  We are excited to welcome you back and look forward to seeing you!
