Goodwill Expanding into Caldwell County with New Career Center

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina will hold an open house of its newest Career Connections Center in Lenoir on Wednesday, April 29. The center began operating last summer, partnering with other community and educational agencies to provide job services.

 
To educate the community on the services offered at the Caldwell County Career Connections Center, Goodwill invites the public to attend an open house:

    Location:     Goodwill Career Connections Center, 960 Blowing Rock Boulevard, Lenoir, NC 28645

The new center offers career services to job-seekers, most of which are free. A computer lab is open Monday-Thursday afternoons at no cost to job seekers, and computer classes are offered twice a week in partnership with Caldwell Community College. The center also serves veterans through the Operation: GoodJobs initiative, a national partnership between Goodwill and the Walmart Foundation that connects veterans and their families with the resources they need to obtain meaningful employment and financial stability.

Services are available by appointment by calling 828-758-8642. The Caldwell County Career Center’s hours are:

Mondays: 9 am – 11 am,  Operation: GoodJobs Information Meeting;  1-4:30 pm,  Open computer lab
Tuesdays: 9 am – noon, Computer Class (in partnership with CCCTI); 1-4:30 pm, Open computer lab
Wednesdays: Appointments or workshops; 1-4:30 pm, Open computer lab
Thursdays: 9 am – noon, Computer Class (in partnership with CCCTI); 1-4:30 pm, Open computer lab
Fridays: Closed

In addition to the Lenoir site, Goodwill operates Career Connections Centers in Buncombe, Davidson, Forsyth, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Rowan, Stokes, Surry and Wilkes Counties.
