Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont, in partnership with Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, announces its 18th annual community service partnership, Good Turn for Goodwill. This initiative will take place throughout the month of October at local Goodwill retail stores and donation centers.
The service project encourages local Girl Scouts to collect gently used clothing, toys, books, and household items to support Goodwill’s mission. “We are so thankful that we can continue this partnership with Goodwill year after year,” said Lane Cook, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont. “It’s a simple endeavor that makes a big impact on our local communities.”
The items donated by the girls will be sold in Goodwill stores to fund a variety of employment and training services that help thousands of people in North Carolina find jobs and reach financial stability.
“Our partnership with the Girl Scouts helps fund our services and raises awareness of our mission,” said Sara Butner, communications manager for Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC. “It’s wonderful to see the generosity and enthusiasm that these girls and young women show in support of their local community.
After participating, the girls will receive a patch to show their efforts. For more information about this program, please visit https://tinyurl.com/goodturn2019.
