Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is holding several free workshops offering attendees basic training on how to achieve a successful job search.

The first will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 3–5 p.m. at the Haywood County Public Library — Canton Branch. The two-hour workshop is fourth in a series held at the library and conducted by Goodwill’s Career Connections Center. The May workshop will focus on networking and will include how to identify one’s most appropriate network, utilizing that network and then using social media to connect effectively to discover job leads.

“Our Career Connections Center assists with free services like résumé development, job search and online applications assistance, plus free access to computers and high speed Internet,” said Lori Mills, Career Connections Coordinator at Goodwill’s Haywood County Center.  “We’re pleased for the opportunity to offer this fourth workshop at the library in Canton now, as well.”
