Computer Recycling

Residential Computer Recycling – Dell Reconnect

Dell Reconnect, a program operated in partnership between Dell and Goodwill®, provides free drop‐off recycling to allow consumers to responsibly recycle any brand of used computer equipment, in any condition, at more than 2,000 participating Goodwill locations in the U.S.  To date, more than 900 million pounds of computer electronics have been responsibly recycled through Goodwill since the partnership with Dell began in 2004. Recent model computers are refurbished and resold, giving local families a chance to buy computers and other hardware at a great price while providing revenue for Goodwill’s employment and training services. Some computers may require extra preparation before they are donated, so remember to remove your personal data from hard drives or other storage media before bringing your equipment to Goodwill.

For more information on Reconnect, visit goodwillnwnc.dellreconnect.com.

Commercial Computer Recycling

Goodwill also operates a free computer recycling program for businesses and governmental agencies. Donated computers suitable for sale in Goodwill stores are processed using specialty software and high-quality standards to destroy personal data left on all hard drives. Older computers are demanufactured and hard drives are destroyed. For more information or to schedule a commercial pickup, please call 336-499-8980.
