Dear Friends of Goodwill,
Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is preparing our stores and career centers in anticipation of re-opening the week of May 11. We have many locations and are working hard to implement safety precautions and practices so we can safely welcome back our employees, shoppers, and program participants.
We recognize that now, perhaps more than ever, our communities need support to help sustain themselves and their families. Our career centers are closed to walk-in clients; however, our dedicated staff are available by phone and online to provide virtual support services and to connect members of the community to other resources during this difficult time. Please visit Goodwill Cares for more information.
Our stores provide the majority of funding for our employment and training services and for our organization that employs 1,100 people in northwest North Carolina. We are doing all we can to take care of our employees who make our mission possible, including remote work for positions that allow and two-weeks’ pay and 30 days’ of benefit coverage for positions where remote working is not an option.
We are all in this together. At a safe and appropriate time, we hope to resume our normal activities and work together to rebuild stronger, more resilient communities. We will update you with information as it’s available on our website, Facebook, and Instagram.
We ask for your patience and understanding during this time, and pledge that we will continue to do all we can to be there for those who need us.
Sincerely,
Art Gibel
President and CEO
