Mocksville, NC – Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina announced the opening of its new attended donation center (ADC) in Mocksville Marketplace Shopping Center next to the Food Lion. Goodwill accepts donations of gently used clothing and household items that can be sold in its retail stores to underwrite workforce development programs.
“In today’s economy, we are seeing an increasing number of people coming to us for help,” said Jaymie Eichorn, Goodwill director of marketing. “The donations we receive from the community enable us to provide services that help people find jobs and become financially stable.”
Services offered at Goodwill’s Workforce Development Centers in Winston-Salem and Statesville include job skills training, work experience opportunities, support and training for persons with disabilities, and placement and retention services. In 2008 alone, Goodwill served over 33,000 people in its programs and placed over 3,500 people into jobs in northwest North Carolina.
The Mocksville ADC is open seven days a week, Monday - Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 1 to 6 pm. During these hours of operation, an attendant is present to assist with donations and to provide a donation receipt, if desired.
