Raynard's Success Story
Raynard was terrified. He was only months away from completing a 33-year prison sentence for armed robbery, but he knew how difficult it would be to fit back into society and find a job. He heard about Project Re-entry from other guys in his unit. After attending a few sessions, Raynard was impressed with the people, the training offered and the services available to him after release. Today, Raynard is working as a cook and making up for lost time with this wife and children. “I’m thankful for Goodwill. These people were my support system when I needed encouragement.”

11/13/2008
King NC
Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina announced the grand opening of its new King retail store on Wednesday, November 12 at 705-F South Main Street in the Colonial Shopping Center. The new store replaces the current Goodwill store, also located in Colonial Shopping Center, and has twice the shopping space and inventory. Goodwill’s modern thrift store will offer a large selection of clothing, furniture, shoes, toys and housewares. Customers are invited to celebrate the event and browse the aisles of newly displayed items for sale.
Revenue generated from the sale of donated items funds career development and training programs that help people find jobs and reach financial stability. “In the present state of the economy, our services are needed more than ever,” said Jaymie Eichorn, director of Marketing for Goodwill. “Our stores provide quality, brand-name clothing and household items at affordable prices and the revenue generated from the sale of these items supports vocational programs that help people get back on their feet.”
Store staff, local officials and members of Goodwill executive management will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12. The King Goodwill store will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. In addition to its King location, Goodwill operates stores in Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Elkin, Wilkesboro and Mt. Airy. Donations of saleable clothing and household items are accepted at all Goodwill stores.
