Goodwill Opens New Store in Waynesville

Goodwill Store - Waynesville - Haywood County

Waynesville NC

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina announced the grand opening of its Waynesville retail store on Wednesday, November 10 at 229 Paragon Parkway in Lakeside Plaza. Goodwill’s modern thrift store offers a large inventory of clothing, furniture, shoes, toys and housewares.  Customers are invited to celebrate the event and browse the aisles of newly displayed items for sale.

“This is our first store in Waynesville and our eleventh store in western NC,” said Jaymie Eichorn, vice president of Marketing for Goodwill. “Since 2007, we have received generous support from our donors in this area and we are excited at the opportunity to serve the Waynesville community with our newest store.”
Revenue generated from the sale of donated items funds career development and training programs that help people find jobs and reach financial stability. In western North Carolina, Goodwill currently offers these programs at its Asheville Workforce Development Center at 1616 Patton Avenue.
“Each time you donate to Goodwill or shop at our stores, you are supporting programs for people who are unemployed or underemployed,” said Eichorn. “We served over 40,000 people in the last year alone but there are many more who need help getting back on their feet.”
Store staff, local officials and members of Goodwill executive management will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10.  The Waynesville Goodwill store will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.  In addition to its Waynesville location, Goodwill operates four stores in Asheville and one each in Canton, Brevard, Franklin, Black Mountain, Fletcher and Hendersonville. Donations of saleable clothing and household items are accepted at all Goodwill stores.
