Our Supported Employment Specialists spread the mission of Goodwill and find job matches for our disabled program participants. This staff member makes in person and telephone business development calls to form relationships with area businesses, working to identify job matches for mentally and physically disabled. The Supported Employment Specialist then performs extensive on-the-job training to help our participants fit in to their new position. The Supported Employment Specialist will perform the following job duties: identifying participant barriers to employment, business development to result in job placements, case management regarding job related issues, job coaching at the work site, and long-term follow-up services. Maintains case notes and billable hours, communicating with the funding agency during all aspects of the placement process.
VALID NC Driver License REQUIRED (Will transport participants occasionally in vehicle).
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate has several years of experience in job development and job placement in the human service industry, working with the MR/DD population OR experience with MR/DD population and experience in a sales related field.
HOURS: Works flexible schedule including nights and weekends as necessary and work extended hours-as required to facilitate job coaching of participants.
