JD's Success Story
Although diagnosed with a mild form of autism, J.D. hasn't let that get in the way of his work or his fun. His first job at Goodwill was baling and hanging clothes. Then he learned to drive a forklift. Now he works in our store and our drop-off area - waiting on customers, greeting the public and receiving their donated items. His cheerful sense of humor and hard-working nature are appreciated by everyone around him. J.D. also likes doing good deeds for others. He participates in the MS Challenge walk (covering 50 miles in 3 days) and has raised as much as $1,600 for the charity. In typical J.D. style, he speaks of his job, "The best thing about Goodwill is working here, meeting all the customers and being a wild man!" The pleasure is all ours, J.D.
